1. Who we are

This website is operated by Gestion Groupe Ombrages inc. (“Ombrages,” “we”), a Quebec lighting and signage design company located at 109, rue Saint-Vallier Est, Québec (Québec) G1K 3N9.

We protect your personal information in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and, for visitors located in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. The information we collect

a) Information you give us

  • Through the contact form: name, email, phone number, company name and the content of your message.
  • Through the chat (chatbot): name, email and the content of your conversations.

b) Information collected automatically, only if you accept it

During your visit, and only if you accept cookies, certain data may be collected: IP address, device type, browser, pages visited and length of visit.

4. Why we collect it

  • To respond to your requests and questions.
  • To prepare our quotes and carry out our projects.
  • To measure website traffic and improve the site.
  • To keep the website secure.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We collect only the information needed for these purposes. We never sell your information.

5. Cookies and tools used on the website

On your first visit, a banner lets you accept, refuse or choose cookies. The tools below remain disabled until you accept them:

  • Google Analytics (“Statistics” category): measuring website traffic;
  • Tidio (“Marketing” category): the chat service (chatbot).

The video on the home page is delivered by YouTube in “no-cookie” mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set advertising tracking cookies.

You can change your choices at any time using the “Manage consent” link, or from our Cookie Policy page.

6. Who we share your information with

Your information may be shared, only when necessary, with:

  • our service providers (website hosting, audience measurement tools, chat, email, document storage and project management);
  • the companies in our group, Ombrages France and Ombrages Algérie, to carry out joint projects;
  • certain suppliers involved in our projects, notably in Morocco;
  • authorities, when required by law.

All are bound by written confidentiality commitments. We share only what is strictly necessary.

7. Information processed outside Quebec

Some information may be stored or accessed outside Quebec, notably in the United States (cloud tools), France, Algeria and Morocco. Before any communication outside Quebec, we assess the privacy risks and govern the communication with a written agreement, as required by law.

8. How long we keep it

  • Requests received through the contact form: 12 months, unless a project or contract results from them.
  • Chat (Tidio chatbot): your conversations remain confidential. They are kept for 12 months to answer your questions, then destroyed.
  • Audience measurement data (Google Analytics): 14 months.
  • When a request leads to a project, information is kept in accordance with our legal and accounting obligations.

At the end of these periods, information is securely destroyed.

9. How we protect your information

We take reasonable measures to protect your information: access limited to the people who need it, passwords and two-factor authentication, and confidentiality commitments from our employees and suppliers.

10. Your rights

At any time, you may:

  • request access to the information we hold about you;
  • request that it be corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • withdraw your consent;
  • request that we stop disseminating your information, or that it be deleted, where the law allows;
  • receive your information in a commonly used format (for example, PDF or Excel).

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (www.cai.gouv.qc.ca). Visitors located in France may also contact the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).

11. Visitors from the European Union (GDPR)

For visitors located in the European Union, we process your information:

  • on the basis of your consent, for cookies and the chat;
  • to respond to your request or prepare a contract, for the contact form;
  • on the basis of our legitimate interest, to keep the website secure.

12. Automated decisions

We do not make any decision based solely on automated processing of your information.

13. Confidentiality incidents

If an incident involving your information presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify you, as well as the Commission d’accès à l’information, as required by law.

14. Changes to this policy

We may change this policy when our practices change.
