Major urban development located in the heart of Quebec City’s Old Port, in a classified and heavily frequented heritage site.
Place des Canotiers is a key public space that reconnects Quebec City to the St. Lawrence River. The lighting design guides pedestrian walkways, clarifies nighttime uses, and highlights the site’s architectural, landscape, and artistic features. Lighting plays a vital role in the nighttime perception of the space, creating an atmosphere that is safe, welcoming, and respectful of its exceptional heritage. At night, the square becomes a clear and inviting space, encouraging community engagement while preserving the views and identity of the Old Port.

Functional and ambient lighting, luminaires integrated into street furniture, highlighting of fountains and the artifact wall, LED technologies, control of glare and light flux.
