Illumination of Birks’ Hotel in Montreal’s Downtown

The Birks Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Montreal at the corner of Square Philips and Ste-Catherine St., Montreal’s most important shopping street. As an heritage building, the business was founded by Canadian entrepreneur Henry Birks, who built a boutique at the start of the 20th century. The lighting enhances the architectural details, in particular the ornamental frieze which borders the entire perimeter of the building on the top floor, the vaults of the windows, the reliefs of the stone on the facade and even the canopy and the entrances.
